Rain warning for Hamilton and Niagara region through Tuesday News Jani

According to Environment Canada, heavy rain is expected in parts of southern Ontario starting late Monday night. Between 20 and 45 millimeters of rain is expected in Hamilton, Brantford, St. Catharines and other Niagara communities, the weather service said in issuing a rainfall warning Monday. Environment Canada said frozen ground has little capacity to absorb rain, saying localized flooding is possible in low-lying areas. Temperatures are expected to hover around 1C in the Niagara Region and Hamilton. The Niagara region, particularly areas near Lake Erie including Port Colborne and Fort Erie, experienced heavy snowfall and flooding during the Christmas weekend blizzard.
