Most areas of Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds in the next 24 hours, according to a special bulletin. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in other parts of the country. A depression over the Bay of Bengal has been causing heavy rainfall over areas in Bangladesh. Under its influence, heavy to very heavy downpours occurred in the Khulna, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Rangpur divisions throughout Friday. The Met Office recorded 149mm of rainfall in the Dhaka district between 6am on Friday and 6am on Saturday.
