Heavy overnight rains flooded many of Dhaka’s roads, lanes and bylanes, disrupting traffic and causing immense sufferings for the city dwellers. The Met Office recorded 103-millimetre rainfall in last 24 hours starting from Tuesday 6am, reports UNB. The incessant rains lashed Dhaka leading to water-logging in many parts of the city. Videos and photos emerged on the social media showing people wading through water with hundreds of vehicles stranded on the streets for hours. The Met office sources also said that the rain may continue till Thursday.
