Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama now says that Azimio leader Raila Odinga's bid to become the next African Union Commission chair is not about Kenya Kwanza and Azimio la Umoja. In a statement on Sunday, Muthama said that the bid is about championing the interests of all Kenyans and Africans. "Raila's candidacy for this AUC top job isn't about Kenya Kwanza or Azimio La Umoja but our country and our son hence we shouldn't drag politics into this matter," Muthama said. Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Thursday last week made public his intentions to vie for the African Union Commission chairmanship. For one to become an AU Commission chair, he or she must be endorsed by the mother country.
