Raila Odinga, while Prime Minister, ensured William Ruto played no part in hiring IEBC commissioners, Energy CS Charles Keter has said. “The current IEBC commissioners were appointed by Raila and retired president Mwai Kibaki, and Jubilee leaders were not involved," he said. Saying violence as witnessed in 2007/8 cannot take place again, he urged leaders to preach peace and unity among all. Uhuru and Deputy President Ruto were nowhere at that time. Keter claimed Raila went out of his way to keep Ruto, who was Eldoret North MP and member of ODM, out of the process.
