The Congress finally ended the suspense over its Raebareli and Amethi candidates. Rahul Gandhi will contest from Sonia Gandhi's former constituency, Raebareli. In Amethi, Kishori Lal Sharma, a close aide of the Gandhi family for over four decades, has been nominated. He also took at dig at Rahul Gandhi for not contesting from Amethi, saying 'daaro mat, bhaago mat'. In Bihar, Lok Janshakti Party chief Chirag Paswan threatened legal action against RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for making "false" statements about his stand on reservations for Dalits.
