Sterling scored two goals in City's 6-0 win which secured an unprecedented domestic treble - although he thought he had scored a hat-trick until the FA later confirmed the second goal belonged to Gabriel Jesus. City also won the Premier League title and the Carabao Cup this season, as well as the Community Shield back in August. Fans were keen to know what Guardiola was saying to Sterling, who was one of City's star players this term and was voted the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year. Sterling thought he had scored City's second goal when he smashed Jesus's shot into the back of the net - but the FA later said the Brazilian's shot had already crossed the line. Had that goal been credited to Sterling, he would have become just the fourth player to score an FA Cup Final hat-trick, and the first since Stan Mortensen in 1953.
