Two rafters have been found on Sunday morning after spending the night in the Akatarawa Valley, north of Upper Hutt. The search got underway at first light after they got into trouble on the Hutt River the previous night. The missing pair were part of a group of nine on inflatable rafts who got into difficulty while on a private trip. One person alerted police at 8.41pm on Saturday, and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked an hour later to help with the search.
