PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz has hit back at claims that she abused her power with regard to Approved Permits (APs) when she was the International Trade and Industry Minister. Rafidah, who was International Trade and Industry Minister from 1987 to 2008, is believed to have been referring to a report in online portal Malaysia Today. The report claimed that she abused her power to issue APs to certain individuals in the car industry. In 2005, Rafidah clarified the issuance of APs in the Dewan Rakyat following criticism that certain individuals were given preferential treatment. Rafidah also said that she holds fast to the principles and value of integrity.
