The 5th edition of the 15kms Rachuonyo Road Race will be held on Sunday at Kendu Bay in Homa Bay County. The race, organized by AK executive committee member Benjamin Njoga and sponsored by Karachuonyo MP Adipo Okuom, was postponed twice due to the congested cross country calendar. Athletics Kenya (AK) Nyanza North public relations officer, Jared Gilo, said the race will start at the Homa Bay Pier then head to the Kisumu/Homa Bay road, overlooking the scenic Lake Simbi Nyaima and end at Kendi Stadium. Besides the main event, sprints from 100m to 800m and relays will be held. At the same time, the second leg of the AK relay series which was scheduled for Moi Stadium in Kisumu on Saturday has been shifted to Kasarani, according to AK Nyanza North chairman Joseph Ochieng said yesterday.
