The 57th Glenorchy Races will go ahead, as scheduled, on January 8. Lakeside Rugby Club president Alistair Wallace said there was full support by the committee at a meeting in Glenorchy on Thursday night to go ahead with the 2022 event. This year’s races were cancelled for the first time in the event’s history due to inclement weather on race day. Mr Wallace said the organising committee was confident the races, the major fundraiser for the Glenorchy community, could go ahead safely, with some changes. - tracey.roxburgh@odt.co.nz
