"Fine and punishment have been raised in the new law and it has been done to make people aware and abide by the law with respect," said Atiqul Islam on Monday. He stayed in the area for around two hours and distributed leaflets among drivers and passersby urging to follow the traffic rules and laws. Atiqul Islam said: "Traffic laws have been strictly followed around the world. People respect the traffic laws as they have to pay a huge amount of money along with harsh punishment for violating traffic rules and laws." He also said that a fine system will be introduced from next January 1 for crossing roads haphazardly.
