Six mobile courts took action against offenders for violating rules under Road Transport Act 2018. Despite the Road Transport Act coming into effect on Sunday, BRTA ran mobile courts for the first time on Monday. The BRTA mobile courts ran drives on Manik Mia Avenue and in Uttara, Pallabi, Rayerbagh, Banani, and Jatrabari in the capital, according to a press release. Meanwhile, Chittagong district administration also ran two mobile courts in the port city. Meanwhile, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Qbaidul Quader on Monday said the new act will be implemented at any cost.
