Moving some operations down the country could be goodIn 2004 the UK government came up with a plan to move a large part of the BBC out of London. While the public service broadcaster did have offices and production facilities dotted around England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, it was felt that the organisation was too London-centric – and its physical footprint in the capital had become too unwieldy and costly to run.
