Meanwhile the RPF of Central Railway have for the first time in recent years, started taking action against errant auto and taxi drivers at Kurla LTT. They are levying fine under Section 159 of Railway Act, 1989 for which drive started on February 9. We are holding discussions with the Traffic Police to find a solution which also includes having prepaid auto/taxi stands," said KK Ashraf, senior divisional security commissioner (Mumbai), Central Railway. The RPF officials said that they decided to launch a crackdown after passengers complained about being fleeced by them at LTT. Currently the prepaid taxi stand is empty.
