Bonner's dramatic penalty save is regarded as one of the greatest moments in Irish sport and paved the way for Ireland to reach a historic World Cup quarter-final. Bonner became a national hero and is still revered by Irish soccer fans for that 'save' in Genoa in 1990. Timofte responds by telling Bonner he opened a bar in his hometown which he called 'penalty'. Timofte changed his mind and of course Bonner saved the penalty and the rest they say is history.
