Human remains found last week near the New Line Road area of Roaches Line are confirmed to be those of homicide victim Joshua Whalen. RCMP released a statement Friday afternoon that the remains belonged to a missing person, but did not release the information to the public. At 4 p.m. Friday, the RNC confirmed the body was identified as Joshua Whalen. RCMP say their investigation is "now complete" and have directed questions to the RNC. Last week, several vehicles from both police forces were parked in the area, and RCMP confirmed the discovery of the remains just after 8 p.m.Police said there was no concern for public safety.
