The workers said the authorities had not given their salaries over last six months and fired many of them without issues. Like other days the workers came to the factory to perform their duties on the day, but they found the presence of a lot of police personnel in the area. Around 10am, the workers got involved with an altercation with Production Manager Rezaul Karim about the police presence. On the other hand, General Manager of the factory Razib Kuri said the agitated workers got locked in an altercation with the production manager. “We entered inside the industry on information that the workers vandalized the machineries,” he added.
