There is perhaps no item of clothing in the world as ubiquitous as the denim jeans. That is why it is wonderful to see that Bangladesh has, over the last couple of years, steadily taken over numerous global denim markets — this is a sign of our nation’s forward march in becoming the leading RMG nation in the world. It is apparent that denim, as an industry specialty, shows tremendous promise when it comes to RMG export. Market research shows that the global denim and jeans market is worth about $60 billion, and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of over 6.5% by the next two years. Furthermore, if we can become stronger in design development, more and more doors will open for us in the global market.
