Intern doctors of Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) have withdrawn their work abstention. The strike was withdrawn on Sunday morning, reports UNB. Acting director of the hospital Dr Ajay Kumar Roy said the interns called off the strike around 10 am after the hospital authorities assured them that their demands would be met. The interns imposed the strike on Saturday, to press a set of demands centring security issues. They demanded that the authorities take steps to build a police outpost in the campus premises, arrange security for the interns, appoint one security officer in every ward and allow patients’ attendants to enter the hospital after 12pm every day.
