The teams visited Liaquat Road, Iqbal Road, Raja Bazaar, Bara Bazaar, Jamia MasjidRoad, Gangmandi, Machli Mandi, Jinnah Road, Talwaran Bazar, Mochi Bazar, Borah Bazarand the adjoining roads. During the operations, the teams confiscated goods of around 120 encroachers while imposing fines worth Rs 30,000 on shopkeepers found involved in encroaching up on government land. The spokesman said that the enforcement staff would continue the operation on a daily basis, adding that violators would be fined and their goods confiscated. Now, strict action in accordance with the law was being taken and the confiscated goods would be auctioned instead of being returned to the shopkeepers, he said. He further informed that six first information reports were also lodged against the violators in the respective police stations.
