RMC alumni cherish ‘golden’ moments


more-inThey gathered on the premises where they met for the first time about 50 years ago as medicos and spent three days together to recall the ‘golden’ days, the then teachers and staff and the pranks played by them in the classrooms. The sprawling premise of the Rangaraya Medical College was buzzing with activity on Sunday that marked the valedictory of the golden jubilee celebrations of the 1967 batch students. Of the 170 students of the golden jubilee batch, over 70 members from different parts of the globe gathered here as a result of the three month-long rigorous exercise undertaken by the organising committee. Marking the get-together, the old students donated a 40-seater bus to the RMC to provide transportation to the present students and pooled up funds to foot the mess bills of meritorious students from financially poor background. “Many of our batchmates evinced interest in taking classes,” said Mr. K. Satyanarayana, organising secretary of the old students meet.
