RMAF launches first-ever locally developed portable radar simulator prototype

KOTA BELUD: Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has launched a prototype of a portable radar simulator system which will be used for training purposes. Its chief, General Tan Sri Affendi Buang said the system was jointly developed by RMAF, the Science and Technology Research Institute for Defence (STRIDE), and Iktamatic Systems Sdn Bhd. He added that the system was the first to be designed and developed by local engineers. "The system has also passed the assessment conducted by the Electronic Warfare Support Centre (EWSC), RMAF and STRIDE. "However, we will still fine-tune the prototype from time to time to ensure it is the best simulator."
