RM1.14mil to upgrade 22 mission schools in Penang - Nation

GEORGE TOWN (Bernama): The Penang government has approved RM1.14mil for upgrading works on 22 mission schools in the state, says Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow (pic). He said most of the schools would use their allocations to repair structural defects as well as for upgrading and renovation works. “It may not be much but I hope the allocation can help lighten their burden, especially in ensuring the comfort and safety of their students,” he said. He said although education was not under the state government's jurisdiction, it would still provide appropriate assistance and priority to needy schools. Meanwhile, Chow also said that the Penang Digital Library (PDL-2) would be operational soon as the state government had spent RM10.8mil to expand its capacity to accommodate about 540 people at any one time for any activity or programme.
