Reliance Jio fuels price war, Airtel, Vodafone cut data prices Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio Infocomm has fuelled a price war in the telecom industry. Much to the delight of millions of customers, incumbent players such as Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular have started slashing data prices and adding value to existing internet and voice packs. Mobile number portability (MNP) enables telephone users to retain their number when changing from one carrier to other. "Once you have submitted the required information, we will initiate the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) process with the existing operator. Initially, Jio SIM was available only to its employees, and later bundled with Reliance's own Lyf -branded smartphones.
