REVIEW: And Then There Were None at South Hill Park

This much performed, be it on stage, screen or radio, Agatha Christie thriller mystery about 10 people invited to a house on a remote island off the Devon coast by an unknown host, who are one by one murdered in a way that reflects the lines in a macabre nursery rhyme, is a classic example of the ’Who Did It?’ genre. On this occasion, I can announce without fear of spoilers, that it was the newly formed ‘LB Productions’ who did it, and they did it rather well. She also put together an eclectic cast who worked successfully with varying stage time, to convey their character enough, each with a murderous secret of their own, that when they are killed, impacted on the audience at their loss. In some cases, completely upended their deductions as to who they thought the killer was. As a first production from a local theatre company who want to create accessible theatre for all, this bodes well for the future, and I look forward to seeing how they do it!
