The move came after a discussion yesterday between the Department of Energy Business and six oil refiners ( Bangchak Corporation Plc, Thai Oil Plc, PTT Global Chemical Plc, Esso Thailand Plc, IRPC Plc and Star Petroleum Refining Plc), on expediting the upgrade of their production facilities to the Euro 5 standard within five years. Auttapol Rerkpiboon, PTT’s chief operating officer/downstream petroleum business, said the company is ready to upgrade its production facilities to the Euro 5 standard but the state have to announce a clear policy.
