A Saskatchewan RCMP officer who punched and choked a passive 19-year-old suspect will have no criminal record if he gets counselling, apologizes to the man and performs community service. Flaman's lawyer, Brad Mitchell, had asked for the conditional discharge and said his client is pleased. Dean Flaman is sorry for assaulting a man in Warman last year. All of this occurred while a fellow officer repeatedly told Flaman he had the situation under control and could handle the seemingly passive suspect. Dean Flaman abused his position of trust when he assaulted a passive suspect.
