RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has issued notices to 123 property owners for illegal construction, while 17 illegal structures have also been demolished by the board. Talking to reporters, RCB Spokesman Qaiser Mahmood said that several raids were conducted on the directive of RCB Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Saima Shah by Building Control department teams during the last 40 days, after which the owners of buildings constructed illegally were issued notices. Building rules violators were served with notices as the RCB administration continued taking action in accordance with the law against illegal constructions in the Cantonment area. The spokesman informed that 17 illegal structures were demolished as the owners of the properties had failed to get prior approval from the board. The citizens should not violate the building rules, otherwise, stern action would be taken against the violators and no relaxation would be given to anyone, he warned.
