A mobile court also fined Tk4 lakh against the owners of the storage units in this connection on early Thursday. The meats were stored in an unhealthy environment and most of the meats were wasted," the RAB official added. RAB-2 team claimed that these meats used to be supplied to different restaurants, super shops in the capital and outside of Dhaka as well. Consuming these meats would cause food poisoning and other harmful diseases including cancer, Major Parvej said.
