The Rapid Action Battalion says it has started working to bring to justice those involved in violent clashes with police during the BNP’s rally in Dhaka. The elite force’s intelligence wing is gathering evidence, including media footage and CCTV recordings, to identify and apprehend those involved in violence, the RAB said in a statement on Saturday evening. It said assailants attacked people in parts of the capital, including Kakrail, Nayapaltan, Motijheel, and Fakirapul, and vandalised and torched public and private vehicles. They also assaulted media personnel on duty and vandalised CCTV cameras installed on different roads, the elite force added. A police constable died at the Dainik Bangla intersection after clashes spread from Kakrail during the BNP’s rally at Nayapaltan.
