more-inThe Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad will be seeking custody of Abdul Subhan Qureshi alias Taufeeq, arrested in Delhi on Monday morning, in connection with two cases pending against him with the state anti-terrorist agency. In 2001, when the SIMI was banned, his name was among the several that was included in an omnibus case against SIMI members registered by the Kurla police. Apart from these two cases, he was also booked in two cases by the Maharashtra ATS. The first was registered in 2006, when Qureshi allegedly attended a huge meeting of SIMI members in Ujjain. He was also booked by the ATS in connection with a SIMI module busted in Pune.
