Rumours have been circulating in various political and social circles regarding a plan for introducing presidential form of government in the country and the issue is being debated on the social media. Former president Asif Ali Zardari had also expressed disapproval over the reports saying his party would oppose any move to nudge the country towards a presidential system. Addressing the media in his home town of Multan on Thursday, Qureshi said presidential system could not be introduced without a constitutional amendment and for that, two-thirds majority was required in parliament. “Those who have the political awareness do not pay heed to the such reports,” he said.
