TEHRAN (IQNA) – Mauritania’s Islamic Affairs Ministry said a campaign of playing Quran recitation in the country’s mosques is underway. The ministry issued a directive calling on imams of all mosques to play Quran recitation amid the coronavirus outbreak, Egypt Today reported. “We will put the coronavirus behind us with the help of the Quran” is the motto of the campaign. Nearly 11,000 coronavirus cases have been identified and 222 people have died of the disease in Mauritania so far. The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is a country in the Maghreb region of western North Africa.
