Amid Hong Kong’s business hardship with the ongoing pandemic, the government announced today that the annual quota of the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme has been increased from 1,000 to 2,000. A government spokesman said the scheme has been an important channel to enhance Hong Kong’s international competitiveness. The annual quota of the scheme has remained unchanged since its launch. Following the release of the first Talent List in August 2018, applications under the scheme have increased significantly. The quota allotted under the scheme increased from 411 in 2017 to 874 in 2019.
