Photograph: AlamyQuorn Foods has recalled more than 15,000 chilled curry ready meals from supermarket shelves in the UK and the Republic of Ireland over fears that they could be contaminated with pieces of flexible rubber. Quorn insisted that the recall related to a “manufacturing issue”, which has now been rectified. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company said: “On Monday 12 February 2018, Quorn Foods initiated the recall of 15,660 packs of Quorn Chilled Tikka Masala with Basmati Rice ready-meal 400g. We would stress that this recall relates to a manufacturing issue which has now been rectified.” It said that no other Quorn products were known to be affected.
