Quick action by bystanders and nearby fire crews limited damage from a fire that broke out at a South Taranaki church on Thursday morning. The fire in a back porch of St Josephs Catholic Church, on Stanners St, Eltham, is being treated as suspicious. Catherine Groenestein/Stuff Colin Ogle and Neil Shotter's quick actions helped prevent serious damage from a fire at the back of St Joseph's Catholic Church in Eltham. The earlier fire was in a skip bin near the Eltham Town Hall.
