POLLING day for the Tanjung Piai by-election has been set for Nov 16 by the Election Commission. Our election system is based on constituency representation in which a candidate who secures the highest vote wins the seat. Ideally what the voters of Tanjung Piai should look for is an honest, responsible, intelligent and capable candidate. The voters will gain more information if they question candidates on local and national issues in town hall sessions, meetings and debates. I am appealing to Tanjung Piai voters to come out and make an impact in the by-election.
