Queensland police are awaiting medical clearance to question a man over the horrific death of his estranged wife, who was stabbed to death in front of her children. Detectives are waiting for Rockhampton Hospital staff to allow them to question him, the same hospital where Karen worked. Police said the murder scene was among the worst they've seen, and Karen's children have been left to carry the images of their mother's brutal slaying. "It's a horrific scene for all included, especially those children to see that happen to their mum," Acting Inspector Luke Peachey said. "Three children have lost a mother, a father and mother have lost their daughter ... so it's an absolutely tragic event."
