Aretha Franklin has been confirmed dead after battling pancreatic cancer, her publicist told the Associated Press. According to Franklin’s oncologist, Dr. Philip Phillips of Karmanos Cancer Institute, she died of advanced pancreatic cancer of the neuroendocrine type.
