UK’s Queen Elizabeth II reached out to President Rodrigo Duterte after the Philippines was battered by Typhoon Ompong (international name: Mangkhut). The official website of The Royal Family made the message public on Tuesday, three days after Ompong hit Northern Luzon. Based on a previous report by Radyo Inquirer 990AM, Ompong left 82 dead as recorded by the Philippine National Police. Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways said that the typhoon damaged roads at the cost of P2.3 billion, with some still impassable.
