Quebec provincial police are investigating the circumstances of a baby's death in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac north of Montreal on Tuesday. At 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Deux-Montagnes police were called to a residence in Sainte-Marthe for an unconscious baby. The baby was taken to hospital in critical condition, and admitted to the intensive care unit. The Sûreté du Québec took over the investigation on Monday, and the baby was pronounced dead on Tuesday. Investigators from the SQ unit that handles homicides are looking into the death.
