Hamish Northcott is one of four Varsity players to make the New Zealand Universities team. RUGBY: Bequeathing a core of Varsity players to the New Zealand Universities (NZU) team each year is part and parcel of university rugby. There might have been six NZU players, but for former Turbos hooker Nick Grogan and lock Mickey Woolliams recovering from injuries. Varsity also have Gisborne Boys' High School captain and flanker Dylan Hall, and Manukura prop Antonio Walker-Leawere, brother of Hurricane Isaia. Zyon Hekenui, formerly of Kia Toa, has arrived from Ruapehu and Whanganui, while first-five Layton Manuel comes from Feilding High School.
