Quartet host fundraiser for Syria

Dunedin's Tui Quartet will host a fundraiser for Syrian refugees Sunday, April 9 at the Sargood centre. Tui Quartet is a performance outlet for fifth-year medical student Maple Goh (second violin), second-year medical student Anne Kim (first violin), fourth-year dentistry student Peter Lee (cello), and Rosalind Manowitz (viola). Goh told The Star the performance and art auction event would aim to raise money to support the settlement of former Syrian refugees in New Zealand, and also to send aid to Syria in support of the White Helmets, a volunteer civil defence organisation in Syria. The quartet will play for two hours, while visitors browse the works, presenting a mix of classical and pop music.
