Quarter of a million Syrians allowed to bring families to Germany: report
Photo: DPASlightly over a quarter million Syrian refugees have permission to bring their families from the war-torn country to Germany, a report in Bild claims. The report published on Tuesday is based on a leaked official document looking into the effects of the refugee influx on Germany. It states that 268,000 Syrian refugees currently have the right to bring their families to Germany. Asylum seekers who are given full refugee status have the right to bring their families to Germany immediately. But many thousands more Syrians will not be able to bring their families to Germany, as the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) has only offered them subsidiary status.
