MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude-4.8 earthquake rocked Zambales shortly after noon yesterday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. The epicenter of the quake, which occurred at 12:14 p.m., was located 15 kilometers northwest of San Antonio town. It was felt at Intensity 4 in San Antonio; Intensity 3 in Floridablanca, Pampanga; Intensity 2 in Quezon City, and Intensity 1 in Parañaque in Metro Manila, San Mateo in Rizal and Plaridel in Bulacan. “The quake, which was tectonic in origin, was not expected to generate aftershocks,” Phivolcs said.
