India has changed its position and is now working with the Myanmar government to return the displaced Rohingya people from their country, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said. “India has changed its previous stance on the Rohingya issue and they are now working to convince Myanmar to take back its nationals through diplomatic channels,” Quader said. Quader anticipated that the Rohingya crisis will soon come to an end. “The Indian High Commissioner assured us that India’s central government is working with West Bengal government on the Teesta issue,” he said. Quader said the next national election of Bangladesh was also discussed during the meeting.
