While responding to BNP’s allegation of influencing the Election Commission (EC)’s work, the minister dismissed the issue on Thursday in Dhaka, reports UNB. Quader said: “The EC is not working as per the government's order and it never will. It is therefore working independently.”The minister said the people should abide by the order passed by the High Court regarding deferment of the Dhaka city polls. Referring to the violation of the electoral code of conduct, Quader said the Election Commission can take necessary action. “They [EC] should have taken severe action in this regard.”
