A student of Haripur Bazar Madrasa has been killed and more than fifty injured in a clash between two religious groups in Sylhet’s Jaintiapur upazila. The deceased, Mozammel Ali, was a student of Qawmi Madrasa’s Daoraye Hadith grade, hailing from Gowainghat upazila’s Borogasa village. Centring the incident that occurred on Monday, 3km of the surrounding area has been vandalized and forty houses have been burnt. An argument then ensued which later resulted in a clash between the two religious groups that claimed the life of one student. Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Rahat Anwar and senior officials went to visit the place where the clash had taken place.
