Arrival hints at developments in the ongoing corruption inquiries against the Sharif family, sources sayQatari prince Hamad bin Jassim, who arrived in the country earlier in the day, met ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif at the latter’s Raiwind estate in Lahore. According to Express News, the prince along with a 13-member delegation attended a high-level meeting at Jati Umra, which was attended by Maryam Nawaz, Hamza Shehbaz and former accountability head Saifur Rehman, among other PML-N leaders. The prince’s arrival hints to developments in the ongoing inquiries against the Sharif family in accordance with the Supreme Court’s July 28 judgement in the Panama Papers case. Qatari prince’s letters dismissed as a mythIn line with verdict, the National Accountability Bureau also filed four corruption references against the Sharif family and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad’s accountability court earlier this month. The ‘infamous’ Qatari letter in the top court was sent by the prince in the Panama Papers case, which said the Sharif family’s London apartments were purchased through offshore investments as part of an arrangement with Jassim.
